Who is eligible?

You may be eligible for a free NHS flu vaccination if you:

are aged 65 or over
are pregnant
are aged 18 to 64 and have certain long-term health conditions
live in a long-stay residential care home
receive Carer’s Allowance, or are the main carer for an elderly or disabled person
live with someone who has a weakened immune system
are an eligible frontline social care worker

Flu vaccinations for children

We can also provide free NHS flu vaccinations for eligible children at our pharmacies.

From 1 October 2026, this includes:

Children aged 2 or 3 years
Children aged 2 to under 18 years who are in a clinical risk group

From 1 December 2026, we can also vaccinate:

School-aged children who missed their flu vaccination at school

Am I eligible for a free NHS flu vaccination?

How much is a private flu vaccination?
If you are not eligible for a free NHS flu vaccination, you can still protect yourself with our private flu vaccination for £24.99 before 15th November, and £19.99 after 15th November..

Can children have their flu vaccination at the pharmacy?

Yes. From 1 October 2026, participating community pharmacies can provide free NHS flu vaccinations to 2- and 3-year-olds and children aged 2 to under 18 who are in a clinical risk group.

From 1 December 2026, pharmacies can also vaccinate school-aged children who missed their vaccination at school.

Children aged 6 months to under 2 years who are in a clinical risk group cannot receive their NHS flu vaccination at a community pharmacy and should contact their GP practice.

When can I have my flu vaccination?

Most eligible adults can receive their NHS flu vaccination from 1 October 2026.

Pregnant women can receive their NHS flu vaccination from 1 September 2026.

Do I need to book an appointment?

We recommend booking your appointment in advance to secure a convenient time.

Can I have a flu vaccination if I'm pregnant?

Yes. Pregnant women are eligible for a free NHS flu vaccination at any stage of pregnancy. The flu vaccine helps protect both you and your baby.

Can I have my flu vaccine at the same time as another vaccine?

In many cases, the flu vaccine can be given at the same time as other vaccinations. Our pharmacist will check that the vaccines are suitable to be given together before vaccination.
